Components
- Fire detection: Depending on the use case, temperature sensors are used primarily.
When required, it can also be done with any other conventional system like spark or flame
detector, smoke detector, etc.
- High-pressure tank for extinguishing agent: Since you have to take care of low weight
and little required space, the amount of extinguishing agent and the tank size is limited.
However, to achieve high-performance extinguishing, the extinguishing agent must be
sprayed at high-pressure when released.
In a mobile field of application a tilted, sideways, or heads-up position of the secured area
needs to be considered.
A special construction makes a release of the extinguishing agent also in these
cases possible. The tank is sealed with a special armature with the trigger element.
Depending on possible fire danger, the type (water, foam, CO²) and quantity of the
extinguishing agent has to be adjusted.
- High-pressure pipe: It will be placed according to the situation in the area which is to be
protected.
- Misting nozzles: The number and design (one or more rows of release openings) depends
on the needs of the situation at hand.
- Control console: It is mounted on a clear place (dashboard, control unit for machines, etc.)
It includes: Power supply, power supply test, manual trigger, optical/acoustic trigger alarm.
Operation sequence
If fire detection has been activated, the power supply releases the trigger element on the
special armature.
Through this action the tank has been opened and the extinguishing agent can reach
the misting nozzels over the high-pressure pipe. There it will be atomised and
sprayed into the protected area.
